How to Unscrew the Pedal
Sooner or later, every cyclist is faced
with the need to unscrew the pedal his "iron horse". Most often it
needs to be done to replace the pedal when it fails. Perform this operation is
quite simple, if the bike is relatively new. But what if the bicycle parts
already a little rusty or deformed?
You will need
- WD-40 liquid;
- Kerosene;
- Puller.
To get started, try to simply unscrew the
pedal is suitable for the size of the key. Key size may vary, all depends on
the design of a particular bike. The left pedal has a left-hand thread of the
same, so it should be unscrewed clockwise. The right pedal unscrew in a
counter-clockwise direction. If the exercise bike for timely care, loosening
pedals should not cause difficulties.
If the pedal is not unscrewed freely
enough, do not try to put a lot of effort. Use as an aid in special liquid
paraffin or WD-40. Apply the liquid to the mounting connection and wait about
10-15 minutes. During this time the vehicle will penetrate between the mating
parts. Use for easier unscrewing spanner pedal, and even better - the special
pedal wrench (stripper). On one side is a stripper spanner for loosening the
nut, and the other end - the actual extractor. First, unscrew the nut as far as
possible. Then screw the puller almost to the end, working very carefully to
avoid damaging the threads. Now move the wrench on the bolt and tighten it. If
done correctly, the connecting rod will be in your hands.
Once you have unscrewed the pedals, be sure
to spend a little preventive work before installing new ones. In order to
continue to not have problems with the dismantling, lubricate the mating part
of the connection with grease. BTW, you can select the tools at Banggood.

handlebar extenders) there with high quality and reasonable prices.
