How to Test the Power Supply
Tester - a device for measuring voltage and
current, resistance, and other electrical parameters - is an indispensable tool
for electrical wiring repairs, various household electrical appliances, and electronic
equipment.
By purchasing the PC power
supply tester, select a model with the arrow indication. Tester's
numerical scale in practice is less convenient. Do not buy, and very compact
model, slightly larger than a matchbox. All lettering on the display they are
small, which is very inconvenient. To using the tester to quickly find faults,
they should be able to use. In order to check the mains voltage, put the device
on the AC measurement, the measurement range should be below 300 volts. After
that, feel free to insert the device into the outlet probes - the device will
show you the current in the mains voltage.
To measure DC voltage, switch the device to the appropriate mode. Make sure that the measuring range has not been below the expected voltage. In that case if you do not know what can be voltage, first turn the unit on a large scale, then, considering the magnitude of the voltage, set a smaller range for more accurate measurement. With the help of a tester, you can check the serviceability of many electronics components. For example, the diode must pass a current in one direction only. The resistance of the resistor must correspond to their face value. Transitions transistors collector-base and base-emitter voltage must be open in one direction and closed in the other, the collector-emitter closed in both directions. BTW, you can select the tester at Banggood. Besides, you can easily get other computer accessories (e.g. ASUS K53E charging port) there with high quality and reasonable prices.
