The fidget spinner is so hot, do you know where it comes from? -part 2

August 1, 2018 at 4:54 pm, No comments

How did the fidget spinner become hot?

The fidget spinner rose in the United States in 2017, and a man named Scott McCoskery said he made his first fidget spinner about three years ago. Scott was originally an IT industry employee. Because he was too boring to attend an unnecessary conference call or chairman meeting, he made such a small thing for himself.

Scott claimed to have made the first fidget spinner and called it "Torqbar." Later, he shared the photos of the fidget spinner online, and the netizens said that they wanted one. So he began to produce and sell the fidget spinner he called "Torqbar", initially selling for $300 to $500. Soon after, others began to make fidget spinners in other styles and materials. As the mystery of the fidget spinner spread across the Internet, various toy retailers began to introduce the toy. Due to their popularity among young people, some schools even prohibit students from playing them. Soon, the colorful fidget spinner  is gradually introduced to other places, such as Asian countries.

What is the use of fidget spinners?

As a toy, the biggest use of a fidget spinner is naturally a pastime. However, many people think that in addition to being able to pass the boring time, the fidget spinner can relieve their anxiety to a certain extent. As the gyro spinner continues to rotate, attention seems to be able to shift away from the troubles, so the fidget spinner is also considered as a decompression toy.

A recent discussion with fidget spinner is a 22-year-old UCLA graduate Manuela Torres-Orejuela. She made a fidget spinner "Fidgetiddies" that could be rotated on the nipple, and was madly forwarded on Twitter. Manuela has attention deficit disorder (ADHD) and anxiety, and she believes that fidget spinners can make her calm and happy. "I even used it to decorate my graduation cap," she said.
